Associates in the Carmel, Chicago, Philadelphia, Rapid City, St. Paul and Tempe offices got a closer look at Process Excellence projects during conferences on Oct. 17. In Carmel, Conseco's Leadership Council visited 49 booths that displayed projects, materials, software demonstrations and methodology explanations. The council voted on the top eight projects in six categories (for more details, visit http://ntwebmetrics.conseco.com/procex/default.htm).

Conseco Chairman and CEO Gary Wendt thanked participants in a brief talk that was carried to all participating offices. Wendt pointed out that Conseco needs Process Excellence to become a better company. "From projects that are fundamental to the business to those that are novel or unique, Process Excellence is absolutely essential," he said. "I'm up here to congratulate you and thank you for a job well done. I know prizes are to be awarded, but all 49 projects are winners today. Thanks for doing it for us!"
